Want to chat with your users real time? I added Plugoo to my site, linked it up with my AIM account and I am in constant contact with users looking for help or just wanting to say what’s up. This is not for everyone but I found it so cool I now turn my AOL IM mobile when I am AFK and my IM’s hit me via Text message on my Smart Phone.

Use Feedburner

Posted by ADMIN On 6:31 AM 0 comments
Feedburner lets you “burn your feed” and add feed flare. Before they were a Google company they were awesome but now that they are a part of the Google they are even better. I use Feedburner for feed statistics, monitoring users subscriptions, managing our daily email blast list and adding feed flare enhancements to your feed. This is a MUST do for any blog. Almost a no brainer. Blogger lets you specify your Feedburner information in their ‘Site Feed’ tab inside your dashboard. Once there you will see a place to plug in your Feeburners URL.

Adding inline ads

Posted by ADMIN On 6:29 AM 0 comments
Want to add advertisements into your posts for maximum exposure? By having your ads out their in front of peoples face they just might click them more often. I am not a big believer in ads. But maybe you are and by following these instructions from MyDigitialLife you can add adds in your post between post or even in the footer. It is not hard to do and involves a little modification to your template. Due to the fact that Blogger parses out some code and changes some characters when you enter it manually in the html this will show you a workaround for that. From their web site:

Use this script to achieve a WordPress-esque Recent Comments module for your side bar! Start some riots among your readers! Let them know what others have to say. This site provides a widget creator that I used to make my recent comments module. I found that after adding this, it actually encouraged people to comment more frequently. I don’t know if they like seeing their name up in lights or if they read what others wrote and want to kick in their two cents… But either way it has increased commenting by about 70%!

Removing The Blogger Bar

Posted by ADMIN On 6:25 AM 0 comments
I hated the blogger bar across the top of my Web site because it didn’t really go with my template and I already had a Google search bar integrated. So I went on a mission to remove it and de-bloggerify my blog. I searched far and wide and for some reason kept hitting a dead end. It turns out that the code used to change the old blogger templates no longer works! So after tracking down the CSS changes here is how I did it:
All you need to do is add the following CSS to your template under edit HTML. You need to put in anywhere in your template between the <style> tags.

      #navbar-iframe { height:0px; visibility:hidden; display:none; }
Create [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\Open with Notepad\command], click on command, then double-click on "(Default)" in the right pane and edit the string to read notepad.exe %1 Open unknown files in Notepad when clicking on them: - Create [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\shell\open\command], click on command, then double-click on "(Default)" in the right pane and edit the string to read notepad.exe %1 - If Notepad still does not open unknown files when you click on them, delete the key openas (export it first) Note: In Windows Explorer, Open With > Choose Program... will not work anymore.

Windows Vista has two modes to switch from one application to another: the classic mode (which displays a miniature view of the application rather than its icon), and a mode called "Flip 3D" tilt windows applications by a movement of rotation in 3 dimensions.

To activate Flip 3D, use: The key combination [Windows] + [Tab] (in this instant you exit the Flip 3D mode when you release the Windows key). Or the [Ctrl] + [Windows] + [Tab] (in this mode to the PC remains in Flip 3D mode after releasing the [Windows] until you select a window).

Tip one: once the Flip 3D mode activated, press [Down Arrow] or [Right Arrow] to scroll through the applications forward. [Up Arrow] or [Left Arrow] to scroll through the applications to the back. You can also use the mouse wheel to scroll through windows. Remember that the switch uses classical him, the key combination [Alt] + [Tab]. Note: Some old keyboards do not have the [Windows] button.

Increase performance easily

Posted by ADMIN On 3:57 AM 0 comments
The real performance hit in Windows Vista is within its power management settings. In the advanced settings, there are spots to set the minimum and maximum CPU speed. Even on "high performance" the minimum isn't set to 100%, so to fix the problem, either create a custom profile or just edit the "high performance" profile to have a minimum and maximum CPU speed of 100%. This will cause Vista not to slow the CPU down, so you will have ultimate performance. Vista runs better and there is a noticeable responsiveness to it when the CPU setting is fixed. This setting is good for desktops and laptops on plugged in power. Adjust as needed for laptops on batteries, but that should be on a separate power profile, anyway.

Windows Vista is automatically installed with many features, not always useful for the use of your computer. You can optimize your system and win a few seconds to start disabling the functionality you're not using.
Here is how:

1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.

2. Click on the Programs icon.

3. Then click the Enable or disable Windows features of the Programs and Features heading.

4. Click the Continue button.

5. The list of features of the system is displayed. Uncheck the boxes just before the features you do not and  you want to disable. For example, you can uncheck the box in front of optional components for Tablet PC if you do not have a Tablet PC, before games if you do not use Windows games before DFS Replication Service Windows if you do not need to synchronize files between multiple computers, etc..

6. Finally, click on the OK button at any time you can re-checking features and return them in their previous state.

In Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run.

At the command prompt, type CONVERT [driveletter]: /FS:NTFS.

It is also recommended to verify the integrity of the backup before proceeding,
as well as to run RDISK and update the emergency repair disk (ERD).

Password Recovery Disk

Posted by ADMIN On 12:55 PM 0 comments
Single-click Start menu, Control Panel, and User Accounts.
Click your user account name.
Under Related Tasks on the left, click "Prevent forgotten password" to launch the wizard.

Now that you've launched the wizard, let it walk you through creating the recovery
disk. Make sure the disk you use is formatted and in the drive.
After it's finished creating the disk, label it and stash it away for an emergency.

If you happen to forget your password, all you need to do is click your user icon
at the logon screen. Even though you don't have your password, go ahead and
click the green arrow just like you would to finish logging on to your computer.
This will launch a little yellow dialog box directing you to use your password
recovery disk.
Here's how you can remove those shortcut arrows from your desktop icons in Windows XP.

1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTlnkfile
3. Delete the IsShortcut registry value.

You may need to restart Windows XP.

account, then all that is required is to click on your Username on the Welcome screen.
This trick is somewhat rough, hence it is optional. I used this trick and found my Recycle Bin renamed. If the first trick fails, you can do this at your own risk. This Blog's Author will not be liable if any damage occurs. It is highly recommended that you should backup your registry.

1. Click Start > Run
2. Type regedit
3. Press Ctrl+F to open search box and type Recycle Bin and search
4. Change what ever you found (Value/Data/Key) with Recycle Bin to Desired Name
5. Press F3 to continue searching for 'Recycle Bin'
6. Repeat step 4 until you have finished with searching and changed all values to its new name.
7. Close regedit and refresh desktop, You will find the Recycle Bin is Renamed.
